valentine parties
Thank you in advance to all the room parents who will volunteer their time and for those sending in donations for upcoming classroom parties on Friday, February 13th. As in the past, all classroom snacks have to be checked by our school nurse, Mrs. Beckman. This process runs smoothly when food is brought in advance either Thursday, February 12th or at the beginning of the school day on Friday, February 13th by 9:00 am. No food will be allowed to go to the classroom until it has been checked. Morning kindergarten parties can be set up at 9:15 and will begin at 9:30. For all other parties, parents can begin setting up at 1:15 for a 1:30 start. Again, many thanks!!

a peek into kindergarten
What’s happening in KINDERGARTEN?
It is definitely our favorite time of the year! At this point in the year we are observing our kindergartens making connections to print and loving reading! We see the light bulbs burning bright daily. We love how excited the students get when they find "snap words" in books. Please continue to use Raz-Kids to practice reading. We are so proud of everyone! As we wrap up second trimester, we look forward to celebrating the 100th day
of school the week of February 9-13. We have so many fun
activities planned that we need all week to celebrate! The week
will begin with our kindergarteners dressy up like they are 100
years old! Oh boy! Of course, the week will wrap up with a
Valentine’s Day party. Thank you to all the parent volunteers
who helped plan and organize such a fun afternoon.
We look forward to meeting with all our kindergarten parents at
conferences!

calling all artist enthusiasts
We have some wonderful things happening in the art room here at Copeland! We are getting ready for our next art show which will be held at Cook Memorial Library running March 4th- April 6th. It is a district-wide show featuring artwork from all five D70 schools. To help make this another successful show I am looking for some parent volunteers. We are in need of at least 2 or 3 parents willing to come help hang 30 pieces of artwork at the library at 4:00pm on Tuesday March 3rd. The more hands the quicker we will get it all hung! We will also need some food donations for the opening reception on March 4th. Food donations can be dropped off at the library at any time during the day on March 4th up until 5:00. We are in need of any treats that are nut-free, bottles of water and napkins!
If you are able to help with anything stated above please email me!
