student council at copeland
Student Council is coming Soon!
Fifth grade students have the privilege and opportunity to run for a Student Council Officer position. Fifth grade students interested in running will write and present a speech prior to a student vote. Once Officers are in place, Student Council will include grade level representatives to help in many ways throughout the school! Thank you in advance, students, for your leadership!

september is attendance awareness month -- next week attendance counts!
Copeland School is an enthusiastic participator in the Lake County Regional Office of Education’s focus on student attendance during the month of September. During the week of September 12-16, attendance counts towards a county-wide competition for percentage of student attendance. Student attendance has a direct impact on student achievement. Much of what student learns comes through class discussions or activities that cannot be replicated at home. When your child has a fever or is vomiting, they need to stay home until well. However, it is our intention to avoid unnecessary absences to maximize students’ opportunities to learn. Help us Make it Count!
an important note from mrs. beckman for kindergarten and new students to copeland
Medical Records
Please remember that all kindergarten students and students new to Copeland need to turn in school health records that include a physical, immunizations and an eye exam. These need to be turned in as soon as possible. Failure to have the physical and record of immunizations turned in by October 15th will result in exclusion from school, as required by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
